On March 4, 2017, the Partnership and the Dignity in Schools Campaign hosted our second community convening on school culture at Santee High School. The day was focused on circles and conversations on building restorative communities at our schools in our districts and with our families, and featured 200 students, parents, educators, district administrators, and community partner attendees, plus 30 partners at our resource fair!
We had lots of student participation including student performances, volunteers, workshop facilitators, opening and closing ceremony
facilitators, culinary arts, and service learning projects. Among the partners who joined were UCLA Principal Leadership Institute faculty, who observed current Partnership Leadership Fellows facilitating workshops.
We closed the day honoring the Santee GSA for their all-gender bathroom campaign and with participants sharing lessons learned and commitments from the day. We couldn’t have done it without our volunteers, partners, and home office team.
