Partnership Teacher Residency at Alder Graduate School of Education

The Alder Graduate School of Education teacher residency program is based on a model that combines immersive hands-on practice in the classroom with educational theory and research. In collaboration with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, Alder’s teacher residents will be assigned to LA Unified schools within the Partnership’s network. Each resident will be paired with a mentor teacher from whom they will learn throughout the year. We are seeking teacher residents for Math, Science, Special Education (K-12), and English.

Learn More About the Alder GSE Resident and Mentor Experience

As a Partnership teacher leader I not only have access to additional resources and professional development opportunities, but I have the privilege of collaborating with amazingly passionate and likeminded educators from across the network. When we come together, we form a dynamic educational think tank that never ceases to push my thinking, add skills to my toolbox and improve my classroom practice.

Recruiting and retaining outstanding school leaders is key to our success. Partnership school leaders receive intensive support and coaching that goes beyond what the District provides, including year-round professional development that is aligned for principals and assistant principals. We provide opportunities for leaders across our network of schools to collaborate and share best practices to unstick difficult problems around staffing, facilities, and budgeting. We also provide additional operations support and advocacy to help our schools make the most of their dollars and maximize services for students.

Being a Partnership principal allows me to be an innovative leader who can truly transform the lives of my students and the trajectory of my school.
