On Saturday, September 15, the Partnership hosted its Parent College program at Santee Education Complex for over 150 parents, students, partners, and school staff. We also had two special guests from LA Unified in attendance – Superintendent Austin Beutner and Board President Mónica García. Both guests delivered inspirational words stating that parent power make schools better. Board President García was also joined by her mother, Guillermina Corrales García, who also spoke about the importance of education and advocating for your children. Parent College workshops offer opportunities to learn about college-going culture, the importance of attendance, health and wellness, restorative communities, and advocacy. See photos here.
