Parent College

Parent College is the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools’ signature family engagement program designed to create space for families to dream, learn, engage, and act on behalf of their students. Families and caregivers will have opportunities to participate in in-person learning sessions offered directly within each of our three communities. The learning series will help families build the knowledge and confidence to navigate the public education system, deepen relationships with fellow community members and school and district leaders, and amplify their voices by sharing personal stories of how they support their children’s success in school.

Our learning this year will focus on equipping families and caregivers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate the education system, build strong partnerships, and advocate for their children; moving beyond family engagement toward meaningful system transformation.

All classes are offered in English with live Spanish interpretation. See flyers for session timelines. Open to all families.

When families understand how schools work, who the key players are, and how to ask targeted questions, they are better positioned to support learning at home and hold schools accountable for conditions, culture, and outcomes that affect students.

Families will also have opportunities to engage in school board meetings, rallies, town halls, press conferences, and community events, with support from our Policy, Advocacy, and Leadership team.
